The Current Headlines:
For the week ending July 13, 2008:
7/12 - Favre can rejoin GB as a backup - The Packers do not plan to release QB Favre and he is welcome back to the team as a backup QB. A trade will probably be in the future here.
7/12 - Clemens to start at QB for the Jets? - Based on reports, the Jets management prefers Clemens to Pennington. No interest in dealing for Favre.
7/11 - RB Jones & WR Kennison interested in TB? - RB Kevin Jones and WR Eddie Kennison are both interested in playing in TB. If Jones is healthy enough to play, he could challenge Graham for playing time.
7/11 - RB Henry fails another drug test - Former Denver RB Travis Henry has reportedly failed another drug test. If true, he may not be in the league this year.
7/10 - JAX WR Jones busted with cocaine - JAX WR Matt Jones was found cutting cocaine with a credit card in Arkansas. He should be dropped down your depth charts and will probably be facing disciplinary action from the NFL.
7/10 - WR McCarins impressive in offseason - TEN WR Justin McCarins has impresses the team's coaches so far this year, and could challenge for a starting position.
7/9 - RB Jordan visits the Lions - RB Jordan and his agent visited the Lions as a possible trade destination for the former starting Oakland RB.
7/9 - StL RB Jackson healthy & ready for 2008 - StL RB Steven Jackson says he is 100% healthy and ready for the last year of his contract.
7/9 - TEN RB Johnson impressing coaches - With his 4.24 40yd dash speed, RB Johnson is quickly impressing his coaches.
7/9 RB Torain signs with Den - The 5th round pick is signed and could be the next big Denver RB.
7/7 - SF may not use 3rd WR? - Interesting article as the 3rd WR in Martz's offense typically has put up decent numbers. This was the case in both St. Louis and Detroit.
7/7 - NYG WR Burress to be at training camp - Good news here. Hopefully Burress will show up at camp and everything will work out as it relates to his new deal.
The Last Week's Headlines:
For the week ending July 6, 2008:
7/6 - SEA to wait to name starting RB - HC Holmgren will not name a starting RB until training camp. Morris & Jones both to have roles in the offense.
7/4 - RB Clayton looks good at SF OTA's - Frank Gore is the man in SF but it always helps to know who the backups are.
7/3 - Pack to move on without QB Favre. - GB looks to be ready to hand the reigns over to Aaron Rogers. Favre done in GB
7/3 - Bills plan more catches for RB Lynch. - Last year Lynch come off the field in 3rd & long. This may not be the case this year.
7/2 -QB Favre dismisses talk of comeback. - Where there is smoke there may be fire. Keep an eye on this to see if Favre plays for another team in 2008. Our gut feeling is the Aaron Rogers era is set to begin in GB.
7/2 - Bears agree to terms with RB Forte. - Keep Matt Forte on your radar come draft day. He could easily end up the starter in CHI, and would represent value if drafted later in your draft.
7/2 - RB Davenport interested in Lions? - Kevin Smith is unproven and Tatum Bell has an injury history. DET may be an opportunity for Davenport to finally secure a starting RB job.
7/2 - HC Martz wants 25 touches for RB Gore. - Keep an eye on this when training camp starts. If there is any indication Gore will receive more touches in the passing game, his value will skyrocket.
